This third part explores the character’s of Patrick and the Japanese Singer in a bit more detail. I hope you enjoy it, and as always, I’d love to hear what you think of it (good or bad).

The second part goes into more detail regarding the main character and his father, and also introduces his new friend Patrick. Please note that this is written as though someone has found the actual diary, and is transcribing it into a computer, so some spelling mistakes are intentional. I write it myself with a pan and pen, as I have found this gives me a more authentic feeling. I can get into his mind easier, because I’m doing exactly what he is doing. I hope you enjoy it.

I have had an image in my head for along time now. Hundreds of thousands of people inside a long, wide tunnel, with nothing but their own company to keep them happy. No matter what I did, this image would never leave my head.
Then one day I had a lot of free time, so I wrote this out. Once I started, it couldn’t stop till my hand cramped up. This part is just over 1000 words, and is the story of a man and is sick father, forced to evacuate Sydney, Australia along with millions of other people. I still have lots of thoughts about thsi tory, and I look forward to writing more parts.

I read an article somewhere saying that multitasking was changing the way people thing, and lowering their attention spans, and I tend to agree.
Case in point: this is what I’m doing right now
- listening to beatMARIO – Night of Nights
- Writing my novel
- chatting in IRC
- YouTubeing
- Twittering
Lately I cannot do just one thing, because I find myself bored and fidgetty. If I’m playing a game then i need to be chatting or watching tv.
If I’m watching a TV show then I need to be chatting and playing a game at the same time.
I always have my PC and Laptop on at the same time. I can’t live without two screens, and I really want a third. That’s probably why I haven’t read a book in so long. When you read a book you pretty much have to do just one thing, and its hard. I’m getting back into it though – slowly relearning how to focus on just one thing. (btw I am reading The Serpent Bride by Sara Douglass, and Australian fantasy author).
I’m trying to wean myself off multitasking and do just one thing at a time, but its so hard. I can’t focus my attention on one thing for very long without wondering what’s happening in the rest of my worlds.

Before all this stuff happened in my life, I had made the decision not to give up writing, but to postpone it. I just couldn’t see how I could write while working full-time at a stressful job.
Now things have changed.
Since I’m taking care of Dad full-time, I actually have much more time to devote to my writing, so I’m throwing myself back into it.
Technically I’ve written three novels, all of which I don’t consider good enough to be published. What I am doing now is re-writing my third novel. Previously it was called “Dilemma of the Hour”. The title now, for this new version, is “Time and other Dilemmas”.
Its a fantasy novel about a young woman who is studying Magic at college when her town is invaded by demons. She discovers the demons are being controlled by a mysterious Necromancer, and together with her best friend Keldis, the renown heroine Ocean, and her Sorcery mentor Woodrill Rivers, they track down the Necromancer – to discover why he is attacking innocent downs and stop him.
As a teaser, I have uploaded the chapter two of my novel here. It is a good introduction to the world, and to the character of Dilemma.
